BRYAN HANSEN
Director of Value Optimization | Bed Bath & Beyond

Brian left a traditional finance role in 2007 and became a Pricing guy when he joined Nestle’s Ice Cream division in Oakland, CA, learning to blend the art of the sale with the science of an elasticity curve. Never looking back, he has taken on an increasing scope of business and additional leadership responsibilities and is now leading the implementation of Revionics Regular Price Optimization at Bed Bath & Beyond. His background as a performer and stand-up comedian has yet to result in a Netflix special, but he jumped at the invitation to deliver this fireside chat in San Diego with Juan (J.J.) Thorne.

Jessica is a strategic and innovative leader with extensive experience in retail operations, process improvement and inventory and promotional optimization.  In her current role with Walgreens, she leads base price and markdown price optimizations, strategy and execution across all front-end retail categories.  During her 20-year career with Walgreens she has held positions ranging from Store Manager to Promotional Space Manager to Director of Promotional Insights. She holds a B.B.A. in Marketing and Marketing Management from Texas A&M University.

JJ Thorne is an accomplished strategy and pricing consultant with over 10 years of experience achieving revenue, profit, and market growth objectives for multi-channel retail companies. JJ is a trusted advisor and played an integral role in growing the Latin American region. JJ earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Industrial Engineering at the University of Lima in Peru and holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN.
